Meet Darcy

Darcy is an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) specialising in providing comprehensive support to children and young people facing complex mental health challenges, neurological conditions, and emotional distress.

Darcy has gained diverse experience across hospital, school and community mental health settings, with a focus on Child & Youth Mental Health Services. Notable roles include positions at Barwon Health Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and Eastern CYMHS, where Darcy' was engaging with young people and families in some of their most distressing and challenging times. Currently, Darcy holds a position in Student Wellbeing in a Primary School based in North-East Melbourne, addressing the numerous developmental, academic or social issues commonly encountered during childhood.

Skills and Passion

Darcy demonstrates proficiency in core OT skills and exhibits advanced capabilities in psychiatric assessment and therapeutic interventions, given extensive clinical experience and formal education. Darcy holds his Masters in Occupational Therapy Practice (La Trobe University), and further developed skills through the Developmental Psychiatry Course (Melbourne University/ Mindful, 2021). Recent professional development includes ‘ACT for Adolescents’ (2023) and ‘ACT Fundamentals’( Psychwire, 2022), ‘Family-Based Treatment for Adolescents with Anorexia Nervosa’ (CEED, 2020), ‘Cognitive Analytic Therapy’ (Orygen Youth Health, 2019). 

Darcy is deeply passionate about supporting young people with complex challenges who may be reluctant or uncertain about therapy. He specialises in working with children and teens who may feel "different," helping them embrace their uniqueness while building confidence. Darcy values connection, community and nature's role in wellbeing while remaining attuned to each individual’s unique needs, motivations and interests. Darcy’s warm and adaptable working style allows him to support people from various backgrounds. This is complemented by his roles within Australia and internationally (ADAPT - Mumbai India), studies in languages other than English, and an ongoing love for travel. 

Other interests include bee keeping, surfing, photography and most things outdoors.

  • Eating Disorders and difficulties with body image.  

  • Issues with impulsivity and presentation of risk to self or others.

  • Behavioural difficulties and aggression.

  • Experience of acute or complex developmental trauma.
